How KitchenStack Came to Be

Built by a meal prep operator, for meal prep operators

KitchenStack was conceived, designed, and created inside a busy meal prep kitchen.

Our Story

One operator, one kitchen, far too many disconnected tools

KitchenStack began with one person running a real meal prep business — and quickly discovering it meant running two jobs at once.

Every week meant planning menus, collecting orders, scaling recipes, coordinating production, managing deliveries, and caring for customers — all while juggling a patchwork of tools never built for the food industry. Spreadsheets, handwritten cook plans, endless tabs, constant switching, and hoping nothing slipped through the cracks.

It worked… until it didn’t.

That’s when KitchenStack was born — not from a startup brainstorming session, but from a real kitchen that needed a better way to operate. It brings every part of the operation into one purpose-built platform, so owners can spend less time managing software and more time creating exceptional food.

Karen Zinck

Founder & CEO, KitchenStack
Meal Prep Operator, Kindred Cuisine

KitchenStack was born from my own meal prep kitchen.  I built the system I wished had existed from day one.  A system that makes running a meal prep company simpler, smarter, and so much more efficient.  If it saves one owner one night of scrambling, recalculating, fixing... it's doing exactly what I hoped it would.

What We Believe

Small operators deserve professional tools

Meal prep operators shouldn't need an enterprise budget or dedicated tech team to scale their business. KitchenStack is built for independent operators and small- to medium-sized kitchen teams, with unlimited opportunity to grow.

Revenue and operations belong together

The best storefront in the world means nothing if the kitchen can't execute. The most efficient kitchen goes nowhere if customers can't find it and place an order. KitchenStack connects both, and provides meaningful analytics to identify impact areas.

The kitchen production is where it counts

Features that look good in a demo but fail on a busy cook day don't earn a place in the platform. Everything in KitchenStack has been pressure-tested against actual operations and is designed with efficiency in mind.  No meaningless feature factory here.
